Investigation of Steel Fiber Usability in Concrete Traverse Produced by Limestone Aggregate

Abstract

In this study, with the limestone aggregate concrete sleeper steel fiber produced was researched. Working with limestone aggregates, the maximum aggregate particle size and the amount of steel fiber volume to be replaced by a total of 6 different series are manufactured separately. Each series of the amount of cement 450 kg / m³ and water / cement ratio is kept constant at 0.25. Each series has a total of 12 pieces of concrete sleepers from the second and fourth units from each series including a total of 24 cubes (20x20x20 cm) produced was subjected to steam curing. Produced on the flexural strength of concrete sleepers and ultrasonic velocity cube on samples 1 and the 28-day compressive strength, unit weight, ultrasonic pulse velocity, freeze-thaw tests were carried out. According to the results obtained, in the production of steel fiber concrete sleeper use said to improve the mechanical properties, particularly flexural strength. This study also produced all of the series, TCDD Afyon Concrete Sleeper Plant by the single block B.58 concrete sleepers production as the threshold value that is being used, Dywidag norms, in terms of 28-day compressive strength and flexural strength can be said that.
