NANOSILVER – A SMART ANTIMICROBIAL AGENT

Journal Title: World Journal of Pharmaceutical Research - Year 2018, Vol 7, Issue 1

Abstract

Nanotechnology is considered of paramount importance in the health care segment. Nanotechnology drug delivery has demonstrated enormous patients‘ benefits. Silver has been in use since centauries in different forms such as metallic silver, silver nitrate, silver sulfadiazine for treatment of various diseases. After converting silver metal into their nanosize significantly changes the chemical, physical and therapeutic properties. Silver nanoparticles gaining importance due to its broad spectrum and targeting action. This review is to study Nanosilver and its potential / application as a smart antimicrobial agent for various disease / indication.
