Progress in the diagnosis and treatment of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome
Journal Title: Chinese Journal of Clinical Research - Year 2025, Vol 38, Issue 4
Abstract
Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is a newly emerging tick-borne infectious disease caused by the Dabie bandavirus (DBV), with an increasing incidence rate each year and a case fatality rate of up to 30%. The main clinical features of SFTS include fever, gastrointestinal symptoms, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and multiple organ dysfunction. Currently, there are no standard treatment protocols for SFTS available domestically or internationally. This article provides a review of the progress in the diagnosis and treatment of SFTS, aiming to offer references for clinical management.
