Abstract
The article deals with the main factors influencing the development of social competence of water transport specialists on the part of socio-cultural environment in the process of professional train- ing and activities. Specified sociological charac- teristics of social competence of water transport specialists by means of qualitative research of factors of social interaction of this group of spe- cialists. The structural components of the social competence of the water transport specialist are connected with the relationship with the employer, the moral and communicative-interactive aspects of the interaction of the crew members.
