வைணவ சமயப் பாரம்பரியத் திருவிழாக்காலங்களில் போது… வைணவக்..கேயில்களில்…அல்லது விண்ணகரங்களில் நிகழ்த்தப்படும் பாரம்பரிய உபசாரங்களில் ஒன்று அரையர் சேவை. அரையர் சேவை என்றால் என்ன?, இவ்வழிபாட்டு மரபை யார் முதலில் தொடக்கி வைத்தது?, அதன் அழகியல் அம்சம் என்ன?, இந்திய அழகியலில் அதன் அபிநயம் எவ்வாறானது?, என்பது பற்றிய விளக்கங்களை தெளிவுபடுத்தும் நோக்கமாக இக்குறிப்புரை அமைகின்றது.
