A Comparative study of Neurofeedback and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction on Social Anxiety

Abstract

: Social anxiety is regarded as a debilitating disorder So that it can disturbs many aspects of human life. The objective is to study the Neuro-feedback and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction on Social Anxiety Disorder. Method: The research sketch is pseudo-experimental with pre- test, post - test with two groups. In this study, research population was all of PNU students. The method of sampling was accessible. By means of sampling, 20 students were chosen as research sample and randomly divided into 10 groups of neuro-feedback and Mindfulness. In the present study, the Statistical method was Co-variance analysis and dependent t-test. The data was analyzed by means of Kalmogrouf- Smirnouf. Also, in co-variance analysis, suppositions regression slops homogeneity and variances homogeneity were tested. Results: The result shows that there is significant relationship between neuro-feedback and Mindfulness on social anxiety. Statistical analysis indicates that there is no significant relationship between neuro-feedback remedy and Mindfulness based stress reduction in reducing the anxiety symptoms. Conclusion: since the neuro-feedback can cause the anxiety reduction so neuro feed and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction can be used as modern methods in psychology that emphasis on biological basis for healing the Anxiety disorder.
