A Comparative Study on Rural Governance Development between Tanzania and China

Abstract
The main objective of this paper was to gather information on rural governance and development with a clear focus on Tanzania and China. It attempts to explain political system of the two countries basing on rural governance particularly rural development. A good and stabilized political system in any country has substantive impact to attain good governance. Good governance may refer to accountability, transparency and good decision making to mention few. Gender equality is crucial entity in the process of decentralization and rural government development in any country. We reviewed the status of rural governance in Tanzania and China and identified some differences and similarities. The review was based on the comparison of the two countries. The two countries have the similar way of getting their leaders through election. However, Tanzania has direct election while China has indirect election. Subsequently, in China two leaders hold each position at the same time while in Tanzania one leader is eligible in each position. In general, Tanzania faces massive challenges than China especially in the implementation of the policies and regulation. It is not strictly and intact as done in China. As well, China is a developed country thus is able to finance multiple programs and project related to governance contrary to Tanzania which is a third world country. This paper reviewed rural governance by comparing the two countries. Basing on the result; the study has posed out the suitable recommendation for the benefit of improving governance and its related entities.
