A Descriptive Study of Patients of Cranio-Cerebral Trauma at Tertiary Care Hospital

Abstract

Introduction: Trauma is a major health problem and is a leading cause of death. Head injuries caused or contributed to death in most trauma fatalities. Objectives: study the various factors associated with cranio-cerebral trauma. Materials and methods: 100 patients of cranio cerebral trauma were selected and various factors associated with cranio-cerebral trauma were recorded along with CT scan findings. Results: Cranio cerebral trauma was common in young male (85%) and RTA was the common mode of injury (63%). Contusion (57.6%) was the most common finding observed on CT scan. Conclusion: incidence of cranio cerebral trauma is more in younger population and most commonly in road traffic accidents.
