A method for determination of complete mechanical characteristics of heterogeneous-structured materials
Journal Title: Archiwum Odlewnictwa - Year 2009, Vol 9, Issue 3
Abstract
The article outlines the possibilities to evaluate by a modified low-cycle fatigue test the quality of materials characterised by different structures and the resulting mechanical properties. The method was described by computer program (MLCF), adjusted to the operating parameters of a versatile testing machine.

Life cycle assessment as a method of limitation of a negative environment impact of castings
Casting production constitutes environmental problems going far beyond the foundry plant area. Applying a notion of the life cycle the input (suppliers side) and output factors (clients side) can be identified. The found...
Quality stabilisation of synthetic sand containing bentonite in process lines
Stabilisation of sand quality requires the monitoring and control of sand moisture contents and its other parameters at each stage of sand processing, i.e. during the preparation of return sand mix and rebonding processe...
Influence analysis foamed polystyrene model on casting defects as well as microstructure ductile cast iron from Lost Foam process with Inmold method
In this work was shown a influence analysis foamed polystyrene model on casting defects as well as microstructure ductile cast iron from Lost Foam process with Inmold method.
Production of Steel Casts in Two-Layer Moulds with Alkaline Binders Part 1. Backing sand with the alkaline inorganic binder RUDAL
Steel casts in Z.N. POMET were produced in moulds made of the moulding sand Floster. This sand did not have good knocking out properties, required a significant binder addition (4.5-5.0 parts by weight), and the casting...
Predicting ADI mechanical properties
Ductile cast iron was quench-hardened with the isothermal transformation according to two alternatives. The first treatment alternative consisted in the austenitizing process at temperature t = 830, 860 i 900°C and anne...
