Abstract
The article deals with the peculiarities of the myth of the author formation, the nature of which is defined by the birth of «chimeric» novel out of ecphrasis of folk primitive pictures «cossaks-mamays» being one of the plot lines of the literary work. The hero of the Ukrainian mythology Cossack Mamay is estimated as a phenomenon of the cultural code personified in the type of cossak-kharacternyk.
