Abstract
The scientific work Basics of Defectology presents a changed and revised edition of the previous book Basics of Defectological Theory and Practice. These two works present a survey of the historical period of the treatment of people with developmental disabilities, the methodology of the science itself, the spread, the reasons for disabilities, the approach to clinical, educational and socio-economic part of defectology.
