A SCIENTOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF DISSERTATION FUND OF THE SCIENTIFIC LIBRARY OF THE NUS AS A TOOL OF ADVANCE OF PUBLISHING ACTIVITY OF THE UNIVERSITY SCIENTISTS

Abstract
The article describes a scientometric research of dissertation fund of the Scientific Library of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding. A purpose of scientometric research is an evaluation of the publiсation activity and productivity of research of dissertators from 2003 to 2013. The main findings of the study are: 1. Dynamics of dissertations defending for period from 2003 to 2013. 2. Distribution of dissertators for the amounts of publications which represent the basic results of dissertation studies. 3. Distinction of publishing activity of dissertators specialized on natural, exact, social sciences or humanities. 4. Dynamics of participating in all-Ukrainian and international conferences. 5. Statistical study of geography of dissertations defending The finding results of scientometric analysis suffered to determine a quantitative characteristic and parameters of the scientific productivity of scientists of the university. It was concluded that improving of the quality of research training requires improving of methods of complex analysis of scientific information, functioning in the educational environment.
