A Study of 70 patients of Acute Pancreatitis in Rural Area

Abstract
Background : Acute pancreatitis remains a common disorder with devastating consequences . Although most episodes are mild and self-limiting, up to a one-fifth of patients develop a severe attack that can be fatal. Inspite of technical advances in medical and surgical field's acute pancreatitis remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality . So, this challenging subject is taken up for the present study in which we will be studying the clinical profile and management of acute pancreatitis in our hospital. 2, 3 Material and methods : This prospective study was conducted from September 2015 to September 2017 on patients admitted to Vishwa Surgical Hospital, Bayad. 70 patients with episodes of acute pancreatitis were enrolled for the study. This was based on the U.K. guidelines for the management of acute pancreatitis .
