Journal Title: Medpulse International Journal of Pathology - Year 2017, Vol 4, Issue 3
Abstract
Background: Cancer of the cervix is the most common female genital tract malignancy in developing countries of the world. Aims and Objectives: To study Cytopathological study of the cervical intraepithelial neoplasm (CIN) among women at tertiary health care center. Methodology: After approval form institutional ethical committee this cross-sectional study was carried out in the department of the pathology in the patients who were referred with suspected of the cervical pathology during the one year period i.e. June 2016 to June 2017. In one year period there were period there were 88 patients referred for the cytology. On cytology the89% patients were having Normal/inflammatory cells, CIN 1 were 6%, CIN 2/3 were 4 % and ASCUS were 1%. Risk factors were Lower SES -70.45%, IUCD -54.55%, OCP-36.36%, Young Mothers (<17) -28.41%, Parity (>3) -21.59%, Obese- (BMI> 30) -17.05%, Diabetes-14.77%, Multiple Sex patterns -12.50%, Family history -3.41%.
