A study of role of platelets in the prognosis of burn patients

Abstract
Background: Burns are extremely complex traumatic injuries that can be classified according to burn depth, size and area involved in injury, age and general health status. Platelets are small fragments of megakaryocyte cytoplasm and Objectives: To Study of Role cross-sectional study carried out at Tertiary health care Centre during the year January 2014 patients admitted to Burn Ward of Surgical Departmen admitted to ward. All the Detailed history of the Patients regarding the Age and Sex and Platelet count during the treatment period Outcome etc. The statistical analysis done by Chi the Age group of 30-40 i. e. 4.32%.Majority of the Burn patients were Female i.e. 63.68% and 36.32% were Males. survivors were having Low Platelet Count i.e. 69.34% followed by 30.66% in Survivors and Normal Platelet count was present in 63.23% of survivors and 36. 77% non =24.03, d.f.=1, p<0.005 ). Conclusion: mortality in the burn patients.
