A Study to Assess the Socioeconomic Impact of Alcohol on Male Alcohol Users Living In Selected Urban Areas of Indore City, Madhya Pradesh, India

Abstract
Abstract: The effects of alcohol consumption by an individual are noticeable in all spheres of individual’s life. The adverse effects of alcohol use go for beyond the individual user. Since every person is part of a family, it impacts other family members as well. The study conducted was. “A study to assess the socioeconomic impact of alcohol on male alcohol users living in selected urban areas of Indore city (M.P.). Method of data collection were interview schedule and rating scale, by purposive sampling 100 male alcohol users were selected. Data analysis done by using description and inferential statistics and results shown that substantial level of alcohol dependence among male alcohol users were and to a great extent socioeconomic impact of alcohol affected their lifestyle. There was a significant moderate positive correlation between the two variables i.e. alcohol dependence & socioeconomic impact of alcohol.
