Journal Title: In Translation / في الترجمة - Year 2014, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
In this paper we shed some light on the Arabic translation of western classics, and particularly the works of Antoine Berman; the famous translation scholar, theoretician, and historian. As a critic in the field of translation, Berman left a huge number of critical studies about translations in different fields such as poetry, epic poetry, theatre, prose, philosophy and psychoanalysis, from which he developed his theoretical points of view.
