Active tourism of student youth as a form of healthy lifestyle

Abstract
Physical activity is one of the most important elements of a health promoting life style. It is important at every stage of functioning of an individual, and may be implemented in the particular place of residence, as well as outside it. Active tourism is one of very attractive forms of spending free time. The purpose of this article is to present the results of studies on the participation of student youth in various forms of tourism, with special consideration of active tourism. In the course of the conducted research, forms of active tourism preferred by young people were diagnosed, as well as opinions on their position in a healthy lifestyle and barriers hindering participation in these forms. The study was conducted with the use of a diagnostic poll method, and is a comparative analyses of participation in the above-mentioned form of tourism by young people pursuing engineering studies, and young people pursuing studies on tourism and recreation.
