Abstract

Studies on bottom sediments and shoots of Typha latifolia growing on the shore areas of Kunitowskie Lake, Unichowskie Lake and Grabówko Reservoir were conducted in July 2014. The aim of the study was to compare the accumulation and distribution of macro- and micronutrients in bottom sediments and in T. latifolia leaves and rhizomes. The sediments of the Grabówko Reservoir were neutral reaction, accumulating large amounts of organic matter and macro- and micronutrients in contrast to the Unichowskie and Kunitowskie lakes, which were alkaline and accumulated significantly less components than nickel. The content of macro- and micronutrients in the sediment of the examined reservoirs was closely related to the nature of the catchment. The content of components in T. latifolia shoots varied depending on the part of the plant. The leaves of T. latifolia were dominated by P (Kunitowskie lake), K, Mg, Ca, Zn, Cu, Mn and Zn (Kunitowskie lake, Grabówko Reservoir), and N, P (Unichowskie lake, Grabówko Reservoir) Fe and Zn (Unichowskie lake). T. latifolia accumulated a total of 2092.5 mmolc/kg and rooted 2260.0 mmolc/kg of all analyzed components, with macromolecules predominant and 99.6% in leaves and 98.8% in rhizomes. The highest values of bioconcentration coefficients in leaves/sediments were found in the case of K (98.0), Mg (9.5), Mn (4.2), P (2.7) and N (2.4) rhizomes/sediments: K (67.3), Mg (4.7), N (3.4), P (2.9), Cu (2.9) and Mn (2.1). Significant mobility between underground and above ground shoots was K, Mg, Ca, Zn, Mn and Ni. The values of the translocation coefficients for the examined macronutrients and micronutrients were changed in series: Ca> Mg> Mn> Ni>K> Zn> P> N> Cu> Fe.
