Alveolar soft part sarcoma: A case report and literature review
Journal Title: Biomedical Transformation - Year 2022, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma(ASPS) is an undifferentiated subtype of soft tissue sarcoma caused by specific chromosomal translocation. The name follows the tumors“organ-like”or“ acini-like”pathological arrangement. The positiveness of immunohistochemical TFE3 is its specific manifestation and surgical resection is the fundamental treatment. This article reports a case of an ASPS patient with multiple intracranial and double lung metastases identified from epilepsy paroxysm. The largest intracranial tumor was completely resected, and ASPS was confirmed by the pathological examination. The follow-up showed that the patient relapsed twice after operation, accompanied by extensive bilateral lung metastasis and soft tissue metastasis of the left lower limb. The prognosis was very poor.
