Amusia and perfect pitch versus cognitive abilities in children. A contribution to the research

Abstract
The undertaken research aimed to assess abilities and skills of the children with perfect pitch and those affected by amusia; it also made an attempt to define factors which can influence the formation of a certain type of musical ear in a child. Based on the analysis of the researched case studies (five children with amusia and five children with perfect pitch), it was reckoned that the people with aforementioned types of a musical ear differed not only in terms of their musical abilities but also with regard to the level of their cognitive skills.<br/><br/>
