Abstract

The population comprised of all the 78 primary schools in the district with a teacher population of 994 teachers. Random sampling was employed to select a sample of 200 teachers and 20 heads of schools. The study employed the quantitative methodology and adopted the descriptive survey design. All the data were gathered by use of a questionnaire which had both open-ended and close-ended questions. The study revealed that primary schools in Bubi District were not assigning adequate homework activities to pupils as expected. Pupils also faced problems of resources to effectively do their homework activities. The study recommends that teachers should assign homework regularly so that pupils understand that it is as important as work they do in the classroom. The study also recommends that heads of schools should encourage to provide resources for use by their children when they are doing homework.
