AN ASSESSMENT OF TURKEY IN TERMS OF PARTICIPATION RIGHTS OF CHILDREN

Abstract
Children face to lots of problems and abuses in Turkey and the World. Rights system which emphasizes these problems and abuses and proposes solutions to prevent them is children‟s rights. Children‟s rights have become a current issue in Turkey with United Nations Convention on Children‟s Rights accurately in 1989. This convention incorporate all problems which children face or can face and are established on base of four basic principles. These are: living-development, equitynondiscrimination, best interest of child and child participation. Child participation that is one of these principles has been discussed specific to institutions and practices separately in Turkey. By this way, a big picture of child participation has been tried to reveal in Turkey.
