Journal Title: Stanley Medical Journal - Year 2016, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
Primary hyperparathyroidism is a generalized disorder of calcium, phosphate, and bone metabolism due to increased secretion of PTH. Here we report an unusual presentation of metabolic bone disease (Hyperparathyroidism). A Female patient presented with severe bony pain which progressively increases with duration. MRI showed multiple lytic lesion with soft tissue component likely to be multiple myeloma. But interestingly she was diagnosed to be having primary hyperparathyroidism and underwent surgical removal of inferior parathyroid. Multiple lytic lesions even with normal serum calcium,Primary hyperparathyroidism should never be missed
