Analiza możliwości zastosowania materiałów kompozytowych na konstrukcje okrętów specjalnych

Abstract

The article is presenting non-magnetic materials used for the minecountermeasure vessels. There are described the characteristics of the materials such as wood and composites of polyester-glass. These materials are commonly used in the minecountermeasure vessels. Particular attention should be paid to the modified wood which is characterized by a much higher mechanical properties than the natural wood while the costs of it are only slightly higher. The choice of the material for the minecountermeasure vessels should depend not only on its properties, but also on the knowledge, experience, processing of the material, and both economic and technical risk. Furthermore in the article are presented the rules of selecting the composite materials on the drive shafts of ships. The drive shaft is the construction which subject to of the complex load condition, why should very carefully analyze the state of the load. The tests carried out showed that the composite materials meet the requirements that are required materials for the drive shafts of vessels. . In Poland there are the right conditions to take the issue related to the construction of the drive shaft on the basis of composite materials.
