Analysis of a Repairable k-out-of-n:G System with Expert Repairman's Multiple Vacations and Shut off Rule
Journal Title: Journal of Advances in Mathematics and Computer Science - Year 2017, Vol 20, Issue 3
Abstract
This paper investigates an k-out-of-n:G repairable system with expert repairman’s multiple vacations and continuous operation rule where the operating times and the repair times of components follow exponential distributions. When there is no failed component in the system, the expert repairman leaves for a vacation, the duration of which is governed by a phase type distribution. Once an operating component fails during his/her vacation period, it is repaired by an ordinary repairman. The ordinary repairman becomes inactivated when there is no failed component or the expert repairman returns from the vacation. Employing the matrix analytical method, we obtain the transient system availability, the rate of occurrence of failures at time t, the system reliability, the stationary availability, the stationary rate of occurrence of failures, and the mean time to failure of the system. Further, we discuss the time-dependent behaviour of the system reliability measures under different initial system states. Finally, special cases of the system are given to show the correctness of our results.

Rootless B-Fredholm Operators
Let T be a B-Fredholm operator on a Banach space X. We say that T is rootless if there is no bounded linear operator S and no positive integer n ≥ 2 such that T = Sn. In this note, some properties of the uniform topologi...
Magnetic Field in Reentry Flows in 2D: Eleven Species
In this work, a study involving magnetic field actuation over reentry flows in thermochemical non-equilibrium is performed. The Euler and Navier-Stokes equations, on a finite volume and structured contexts, are studied....
Computational Model of Prime Numbers by the Modified Chi-square Function
An innovative approach that treats prime numbers as raw experimental data and as elements of larger and larger finite sequences {Pm}≡{P(mp)} is shown in the present report. The modified chi-square function Xk2(A,mp/xo) w...
An Efficient Method for Solving Linear and Nonlinear System of Partial Differential Equations
In this paper, Aboodh transform which is based on the Adomian decomposition method (AADM) is introduced for the approximate solution of the linear and nonlinear systems of partial differential equations. This method is v...
On Stability of Widest Path in Network Routing
The problem of widest path (WP) is a well-established topic in network routing and digital compositing. This paper contemplates one facet of the robustness of optimal solutions to the widest path; i.e., stability analysi...
