Analysis of technical feasibility of status improvement the river and valley environment on the example of selected objects
Journal Title: Annals of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW. Land Reclamation - Year 2017, Vol 49, Issue 2
Abstract
In order to improve the status of rivers and valleys environment, protective measures are often insuffi cient – technical measures are also required. The paper presents two concepts of technical solutions proposed for the sections of the Świder and Rawka rivers, lying within the boundaries of natural protected areas. Due to the purpose of the project, the type of planned works, their scope and the expected fi nal result, these concepts may be typical examples of river restoration and river and valley revitalization. The proposed activity on the Świder river is to inhibit erosion of the deep riverbed, by reconstructing the former natural estuary. Therefore, these actions can be classifi ed as typical river restoration. In the case of the Rawka river, the aim is to revitalize the river and the valley, by ensuring the ecological continuity of the riverbed and improving the status of valley habitats.

Zastosowanie koagulacji i odwróconej osmozy do odzysku wody z wód wyparnych
Wody wyparne z zatężania gęstwy drożdżowej stanowią potencjalny surowiec do odzysku wody. Charakteryzują się niskim odczynem (pH 4.6–6.3), podwyższoną mętnością (3.65–13.7 NTU) i dużą zawartością ogólnego węgla organiczn...
The possibilities of wetland preservation within the depression cones of limestone and marl mines at Leśnica-Małogoszcz and Bukowa in the circumstances of deepening the level of exploitation
As a result of enlarging the depth of exploitation of raw rock material deposits of marl and limestone at Leśnica-Małogoszcz (Przedborsko- Małogoskie Range – Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship), initially to the level of +215 m...
Turbulent kinetic energy of water in a compound channel
The aim of the experimental research was the determination of water turbulent kinetic energy changes in a compound channel without and with rigid, emergent ,vegetation existing on floodplains. Two tests for two various r...
Electrical resistivity methods for landfill monitoring
