Anterolateral thigh free fl ap in reconstructive surgery after extensive defect in the head and neck region

Abstract
Extensive primary and recurrences tu mors in the head and neck region require salvage surgery procedure. It invol ves the remo val of large neoplastic lesions and suppl ying local defects. The purp ose of reconstructive sur gery is to achieve maximal functionality and aesthetics results of rec onstructed organ. Ante rolateral free thigh fl ap is the most common fl ap used in reconstructive sur gery. The possibility of using anterola teral thigh flap including indic ations, contraindica tions and the risk occurrence of local compl ications was pres ented upon the latest reports available in the literature and our own experience.
