Antioxidant Activity Determining Catechol Grouping Flavonol Glycosides from the Flowers of Aconitum hetrophyllum
Journal Title: International Journal of Research in Chemistry and Environment (IJRCE) - Year 2012, Vol 2, Issue 1
Abstract
Aconitum hetrophyllum (family, Ranunculaceae) is native to high reaches of Kumaun Himalaya. The extracts derived from the plant, Aconitum hetrophyllum have widely been used as a traditional medicines to cure diseases associate inflammations, cardiovascular, neuro-degenerative and other ailments, microbial, bronchitis and joint pains. Various biological activities, anti-inflammatory, anticarcerogenic, anti-spasmolytic and anti-microbial have been identified from the aqueous extracts of the plant. Although the principle biological active compound, aconite a ditertepenoid alkaloid and its various derivatives have previously been isolated from the plant. Recognizing an enormous traditional medicinal uses of the plant, the aqueous-methanolic extract derived from its flowers was investigated for antioxidative potential and activity bearing flavonol glycosides. The catechol-grouping flavonoids, a highly antioxidant active compounds, were isolated.

Effect of Non Linear Sorption on Multi-Species Solute Transport in a Coupled Fracture Matrix System
In this paper, a numerical model has been developed for modeling three species radionuclide transport in a coupled fracture matrix system. All the species are assumed to undergo non linear sorption within the rock fractu...

Conflicts over pastoral resources are not new among pastoralist communities. This paper presents findings of a research on Participatory GIS (PGIS) in mapping local context of conflicts over pastoral resources which...
Removal of Acrylic dye Blue-5G from Aqueous solution by Adsorption on Activated Carbon Prepared from Maize cops
The adsorption of acrylic dye Blue-5G (B-5G) from aqueous solution by activated carbon prepared from Maize cops was studied. The activated carbon had been prepared by chemical activation with H3PO4. The adsorption was ca...
Synergistic Extraction of Uranium (VI) by Complexation with CYANEX-272 and CYANEX-923, TPBD, TNBD, TOPO in Presence of Nitrate
Synergistic extraction of uranium (VI) from nitrate medium by cyanex 272 (HA)2 along with cyanex 923, TPBD, TNBD, TOPO and their mixtures in xylene as extractants has been investigated. Analysis of the extraction data by...
Long-term Trends in Rainfall Pattern over Haryana, India
In this study, seasonal and annual trends of changes in rainfall have been studied over the 110 years (1901-2010) for nineteen districts of Haryana. Mann-Kendall test and Sen’s slope estimator was used to detect monotoni...
