Antioxidant Protection in Pregnant Women with Pyelonephritis
Journal Title: Актуальна інфектологія - Year 2014, Vol 5, Issue 4
Abstract
The article analyzes the superoxide dismutase activity in the blood serum of pregnant women with pyelonephritis under the effect of combination therapy using canephron N. It was found that the complex treatment of patients is accompanied by positive dynamics of indicators of superoxide dismutase activity. It is determined that pregnant women with exacerbation of chronic pyelonephritis reported increase in superoxide dismutase activity, which is associated with activation of prooxidant processes. Addition of antibacterial and desintoxication therapy with herbal preparation canephron N has an inhibitory effect on prooxidant process and reduces the load on the antioxidant system of the organism, namely, on superoxide dismutase activity. Proposed therapy is highly effective, has no side effects and is well tolerated by pregnant women. The method is available, not harmful, can be applied in physicians’ practice, helps to optimize the treatment of pregnant women that provides the desirability and feasibility of its mass use.
