Application of Rasch Model Calibration of Iowa-Brace Test
Journal Title: Antropomotoryka. Journal of Kinesiology and Exercise Sciences - Year 2003, Vol 13, Issue 25
Abstract
The aim of this study is to indicate the motor coordination ability of 6-7 years old children, its place in system of coordination skills. IOWA-BRACE test is one dimensional tool of the measurement of coordination ability. Contemporary fit statistics use a various new methods as well as the Item response theory (IRT), especially its Rasch model (Zhu-Safrit, 1993, Čepička, 1998, Blahuš, 2001). The item difficulty vary from -0,795 to + 3,926. From the point of view of the item difficulty, the test items are homogeneous expect the item number 10. Its item information function is the lowest. We propose to separate the item number 10 from the set, alternatively substitute it to another one.The most easy items are the item number 4 and 1. A new rank of items (for IOWA-BRACE test and 6-7 years old children), which depends on the item difficulty parameters has been comstructed : 4, 1, 6, 7, 9, 5, 3, 8, 2, 10.
