Journal Title: International Journal of Humanities and Social Science Invention - Year 2017, Vol 6, Issue 10
Abstract
The wave of rebellion that started in Tunisia in late 2010 and spread rapidly throughout the Middle East, has begun a process to change regional politics and bring new balances together. In this process, which is commonly referred to as the Arab Spring, the entire Middle East from Tunisia to Egypt, from Libya to Syria, has undergone its own political transformation and has face to face civil war, coups and caos. The overwhelming despotic leader Zeynel Abidin Ben Ali in Tunisia, the country where the rebellion wave first took place, and the passing of the temporary government and democratic elections in a short time, made the country a unique example of a peaceful and soft transition process compared to other countries. In this article, from the beginning of the Arab Spring period, the role and the transformation of civil society in democracy in Tunisia and the consolidation of democracy will be explained.
