Journal Title: Zeszyty Naukowe Wyższej Szkoły Bankowej w Poznaniu - Year 2018, Vol 83, Issue 6
Abstract
The article is theoretical in nature. The aim of the research posed by the author was to detect areas of convergence between natural sciences and economics over the last 100 years. The analysis demonstrated its most important areas, which include: 1) the progressive mathematization of economics, 2) the increasing acceptance of the presence of a human factor in both areas of science and 3) the incorporation into both the natural sciences as well as economics of: the theory of chaos and the probabilistic accounting of scientific laws. At the same time, the author identified the understanding of paradoxes in economics and natural sciences as a phenomenon fundamentally limiting the process of the studied convergence.
