Journal Title: International Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology (IJRASET) - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue 7
Abstract
The study area Tindivanam town has choosen to determine the groundwater quality for drinking and irrigation suitability. In order to assess the quality of groundwater in study area, 20 groundwater samples were collected and analyzed for various physical and chemical parameters of groundwater such as TDS, pH, EC, Ca, Mg, Na, K, Cl, NO3, F were determined. The collected samples are compared with the WHO standards of drinking water quality. Therefore the study reveals that how the groundwater is contaminated by effluents from small scale industries and dumping of wastages from markets and domestic wastages from in and around Tindivanam town.
