Abstract
The article is devoted to the investigation of language contrasts as one of the essential features of poetic discourse. The author characterizes the smallest unit of semantic opposition – countersema, that combines both lexical and contextual antonyms; explains the typology of sentence structures, that recorded a strong contrast, was. The classification includes simple sentences with a closed number of homogenious members, compound coordinate sentences with comparative and contrastive relations, compound subordinate concessive sentences, complex asyndetic sentences of closed type structure, complex syntactic constructions and compositional constructions (text). The antithesis in such syntactic units creates extremely distinct and expressive image of the world.
