AVERAGE LIFE EXPECTANCY AS AN INDICATOR OF DEMOGRAPHIC SITUATION DEVELOPMENT IN UKRAINE

Abstract
The article shows the analysed life expectancy in Ukraine, based on which the trend and dynamics of this indicator for 1992–2016 were established. The obtained data allowed assessing the current state of the situation. A detailed analysis of the impact of the economy on life expectancy has shown the high dependence and influence of the economic factor on the life expectancy of the population. Public health financing was also considered. On the basis of comparison between Ukraine and other countries of the world, the author provided a conclusion and a number of recommendations for improving the demographic situation in Ukraine. The average life expectancy is used as a way of measuring the quality of life, economic development, and technological process, as people live for a long time where living conditions are basically good, in particular economic conditions, but other factors such as the state of the environment, the development of healthcare system also make an impact on average life expectancy. Eventually, the low percentage of Ukrainians provided with medicines and high-quality medicine indicates that the government does not pay much attention and does not attend to make a firm decision regarding the overcoming of demographic crisis and, moreover, the state of economic development today does not allow a rapid improvement of the situation. Finally, if the situation is not properly analysed and no appropriate decisions to be made, the overall situation in the demographic sphere is threatening to become even more difficult, with all possible consequences.
