Abstract
This article discusses the sources of university autonomy in Ukraine on the basis of the analysis of the current legislation of Ukraine about higher education, the Charter of Ukrainian Universities "Academic Freedom, University Autonomy and Education". Elements of autonomy Institute of Higher Education are considered: academic, financial, organizational, human resources, scientific autonomy.
