BACTERIAL CONTAMINATION OF TEATS DURING CAW MILKING IN THE MILKING AREA

Abstract
The study was carried out at farm units with caw milking in milking parlors using the facilities “Paralel” and “Yalynka”. The authors studied bacterial contamination of teat surface at various stages of mechanical milking. It has been found out that before milking, due to teat treatment with 1% hydrogen peroxide solution and drying with disposable paper towels, bacterial contamination decreases by almost 53 %, but it does not provide complete extermination of pathogenic organisms. It has been established that due to disinfection with iodine-based protective substances after milking, bacterial contamination of teats may decrease by almost three times, but under the condition of incomplete immersion of teats into the solution and high level of bacterial contamination thereof no bactericide effect has been observed.
