Ballistics of Standard Fragments used for Testing Ballistic Protecting Shields
Journal Title: Problemy Mechatroniki. Uzbrojenie, lotnictwo, inżynieria bezpieczeństwa - Year 2014, Vol 5, Issue 2
Abstract
Some aspects of propelling systems and external ballistics for 5.56 mm and 20 mm standard fragments called also fragment simulating projectiles (FSP) used for determining the level of ballistic protection for ballistic protective shields are presented in the paper. Fragment simulating projectiles of 5.56 mm caliber are presented in two options: with sabot and without sabot. The construction of double chambered propellant system was described. The results of measurements of external ballistic parameters of fragment simulating projectiles were introduced.
