Abstract
The sixties and seventies of the 20th century were politically very significant periods in post-independence India. Especially in the ups and downs of the parliamentary system of West Bengal, the United Front government was breaking down. The Naxalite movement led Bengali society astray that day due to the left and far-left division and the conflict between the parliamentary government and revolutionism. The existence of the young generation is facing a dire crisis. The funeral procession was going on across Bengal that day; Disbelief engulfed the youth of Bengal. Fresh life ended before the barrel of a gun. The image of that terrible time was caught in the later Bengali fiction. Examples of this are spread in many other novels and short stories like Mahasweta Devi's 'Hajar Churashir Ma', Samaresh Majumder's 'Kalbela', Shaibal Mitra's 'Aggatabas' or Jaya Mitra's 'Swarnamaler Chinho’. In the meantime, one of the additions is Bani Basu's 'Antarghat', After a long time since the Naxalite movement, she has made an impartial analysis of the movement in this novel. The author sheds light on their internal conflict, doubt and tragic end through the weaving of the story. A long time has passed since the Naxalite movement, she has made an impartial analysis of the movement in this novel.
