Behavior and Attitude of the Students in the New Normal: Input for Developing Psychosocial Support Among Students of Imus National High School

Abstract

The study aim to study the behavior and attitude of students in the new normal perspective of learning are observed. Narrative methods were employed using a purposive sampling with interview and focus group discussion. Thematic analysis and transcribing were utilized in getting the emerging ideas of the research study. Based on the coding and thematic analysis that was conducted, there are five emerging themes where disclose as behavior and attitude of students in the new normal (1.) Tech Savviness (2.) Loss of Motivation (3.) Adaptability and Flexibility (4) Academic Integrity Issue (5.) Impolite. The behavior and attitude of students need to address in the new normal are Personal Development Skills and Digital Awareness. There are five Psychosocial support and program can be formulated to improve the behavior and attitudes of the students in the new normal (a.) Personal Development Program (b.) Emotional Development Program (c.) Academic Support Program (d.) Family Development Program (e.) Digital Literacy Program. The study was limited to the Students on Imus NHS, who had enrolled in face to face classes, SY 2022-2023. The study can be a basis for psychosocial support for students of Imus National High School in crafting the training and programs for students and teachers in the new Normal.
