Biblioteka medyczna w sieci - wykorzystanie mediów społecznościowych

Abstract

The enormous popularity of social tools has influenced on functioning of the libraries. These institutions undertook the integration of the library services together with social tools, developing 2.0 model’s service at the same time. Some of the libraries are trying to exploit the potential of available platforms, others are concentrating on chosen media and use them for various purposes arketing and promotion, opening and increasing the visibility of library resources, users’ services and strengthening the relation with users, creating the community, etc). The authors of the following article ill analyse the use of Web 2.0 tools by the libraries of medical universities in Poland as well as three universities, in which faculties of medicine or health sciences are functioning. The conclusions will be supplemented with the examples from the whole world. The article is an attempt of answering the questions: in what way and to what extent medical libraries are using social media. Olbrzymia popularność narzędzi społecznościowych wpłynęła na funkcjonowanie bibliotek. Instytucje te podjęły się integracji bibliotecznych serwisów ze społecznościowymi narzędziami, rozwijając tym samym usługi modelu 2.0. Część bibliotek stara się wykorzystać potencjał dostępnych platform, inne koncentrują się na wybranych mediach, posługując się nimi w różnych celach (marketing i promocja, otwieranie i zwiększanie widoczności zasobów bibliotecznych, obsługa użytkowników i zacieśnianie z nimi relacji, tworzenie społeczności i in.)
