Capacity assessment and modification of high noise barriers
Journal Title: Roads and Bridges - Drogi i Mosty - Year 2014, Vol 13, Issue 2
Abstract
Capacity assessment and modification of existing steel structure of high noise barriers in which imminent failure conditions occurs is developed in the article. Differences between design assumptions defined by Eurocode 3 and standards actual in the second half of XXth century could be the reason of underestimation of loads, which leads to lack of general stability of cantilever columns of the barrier. The structure and its technical condition, as well as conclusions of the performed analysis and methods of structure repair are shown in details.

Influence of high calcium fly ash on permeability of concrete in respect to aggressive media
The subject of the investigation was evaluation of the permeability of concrete made with high calcium fly ash (HCFA) from brown coal combustion. Raw (unprocessed) and additionally grinded HCFA was tested. The influence...
Influence of loading time on subgrade parameters derived from VSS static plate test
Achieving the required bearing capacity of a road subgrade during VSS static plate measurements is very often problematic in the contemporary road engineering execution. The problems arise during the test due to passing...
Budowa i umocnienie przeciwerozyjne skarp drogowych
Drogowe budowle ziemne, w tym zwłaszcza skarpy drogowe są narażone na erozję powierzchniową w trakcie ich budowy oraz późniejszego eksploatowania. Usuwanie skutków erozji pochłania do 20% kosztów robót ziemnych. Dlatego...
