CHANGES IN THE CONCENTRATION OF SULPHATES AND IRON IN THE VERTICAL SECTIONS OF KOLOROWE JEZIORKA IN WIEŚCISZOWICE (RUDAWY JANOWICKIE MTS.) – PRELIMINARY RESULTS

Abstract
Mining activity in the Rudawy Janowickie Mountains results in the transformation of the environment including surface and ground waters. The most important are those related to the formation of artificial lakes of Kolorowe Jeziorka in Wieściszowice. The lakes take their names from the colour of water: Blue Lake, Purple Lake and Green Lake. Investigation of the changes in the concentration of sulphates and iron in the vertical section of Kolorowe Jeziorka is part of a scientific project carried out in the Miedzianka–Czarnów–Wieściszowice region. In this article, the authors show the preliminary result of this investigation as well as of hydrochemical modelling using the PHREEQC code.
