Abstract

Background: Various methods are used to collect evidence from a crime scene, and with the advancements in forensic science, most techniques are a common and necessary part of all criminal investigation. Cheiloscopy or lip print analysis is one important technique which facilitates the identification of suspects, and like finger prints, lip prints left at the crime scene may be collected and analyzed. Highlights: This article gives an overview of cheiloscopy and its use as a vital tool in crime investigation.
