Christian Democracy vs. Market Economy and Democracy. Ideological-Programmatic Aspects

Abstract
The ideology and policy position of the Christian-Democratic movement, whose political wings include international (transnational) and national political parties and groupings in and outside Europe, are best reflected in the programs and other documents of the Centrist Democratic International (CDI) and its regional structures (primarily the European People’s Party). The starting point for a review of these organizations’ policy concepts is the assumption on the existence of Christian-Democratic doctrine. It will be examined across several areas including outlooks on: society, economy, and democratic government.
