Abstract
Jesus gives us a good example of how to become a good pastor in that a good pastor is a pastor who watches out for and takes care of his flock with his whole heart even willing to lay down his life for his sheep (John 10:11). The job of pastoring is a job that has been entrusted by God to be done in accordance with His instructions and statutes alone. In 1 Peter 5:1-4, there is an explanation about the characteristics of a lead pastor that differentiate him from other leaders in general. These characteristics must animate the ministry of a lead pastor in the carrying out of his pastoral duties. A lead pastor must serve voluntarily, with self-devotion and humility, and be able to be a good example.
