Clinical profile of patients with ACL deficiency
Journal Title: International Journal of Orthopaedics Sciences - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 1
Abstract
Introduction: Anterior cruciate ligament is a very commonly involved ligament in contact sports injuries where pivoting of the knee involved and as modern sport is being more competitive, complex knee injury patterns are being recognized. With an incidence of 35 out of 100,000 and a two to three times higher risk of injury for females. Methodology: All 20 to 40 yr. Aged patients presented with unilateral knee pain, instability and prior history of trauma to the knee in the orthopedics out-patient department of super specialty hospital, were evaluated by a thorough general and local clinical examination of the knee. Results: The total of 19 cases (n=19) (63.3%) of the right knees were involved and 11 (n=11) (36.7%) of the left knee were involved in our study. Conclusion: The ratio of right knee to left knee involved in ACL injury was 1.72: 1. There were no bilateral cases in our study.

Evaluation of functional outcome after plate fixation of midshaft fracture of clavicle
Background: Non operative treatment of midshaft clavicle fracture has been reported with high prevalence of symptomatic malunion and nonunion in the recent studies. The purpose of our study is to study the union and func...
Open reduction and internal fixation in proximal humerus fractures by proximal humerus locking plate: A study of 60 cases
Introduction: With respect to approach of proximal humerus fractures there has been a wide variation in optimum modality of treatment ranging from conservative treatment to total and reverse shoulder arthroplasty. We hav...
Functional outcome of arthroscopic subacromial decompression in primary shoulder impingement syndrome due to extrinsic mechanical causes
Background: The purpose of this study was to determine the role of arthroscopic subacromial decompression in primary shoulder impingement due to secondary mechanical causes in terms of functional outcome. Materials and M...
To evaluate use of positron emission tomography with 2-(fluorine-18) fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose in detection of chronic osteomyelitis
Nuclear medicine plays an important role in the evaluation of infection and inflammation. Fluorine 18 fluorodeoxyglucose is a readily available radiotracer that offers rapid, exquisitely sensitive high-resolution tomogra...
Bone tunnel widening following arthroscopic reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament (Acl) using hamstring tendon autograft and its functional consequences
Background: To evaluate the correlation between bone tunnel diameter following Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction measured by computed tomography (CT) using multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) and functional ou...
