Coastal Classification of Guilan Province using the Quardin Method
Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2012, Vol 3, Issue 11
Abstract
The Caspian Sea is the largest lake in the world: The length of the lake extends approximately 320 km from Astara to Chaboksar and its width is about 70 km at the widest parts of Guilan province and 500 meters at the narrowest parts. Coasts have made the global action plan easier: The classification system and categorical identification for the main coastal margins can play a pivotal role in the development of and appropriate solutions for coastal areas. Today, scientists are trying to apply the procedural relationship between form and practice, as well as between time and space, to the most dynamic environments of the coasts. One of the most comprehensive classification systems is the Quardin method, the main criterion of which for classification is the effective processes in the morphology of coast, particularly the wave function. Also in this method, sea-level changes at present and in the past have been identified and the remaining effects are visible. Thus, the Quardin method is used in this study to classify the coasts of Guilan province.

Geological evaluation and analysis on erosion intensity of depositproduction at the upper acquiferousbasin ofAlborz dam and preparing a dispersion map in GIS environment
Undesirable effects of erosion phenomenon may not be very noticeable in short time, but these effects become significant in long term. Erosion and wasting of soil is one of major effective factors on reduction of soil fe...
Helicopter Details Detection Using Micro-Doppler Signature
One of the most important issues in modern radar systems is detecting more details of targets beside of their distance and speed. To detect the key features and detailed parameters of a helicopter from radar signal, a ne...
Electrophoresis: What does a century old technology hold for the future of separation science?
Electrophoretic separation was first demonstrated in the year of 1807 and has since been a staple tool used by biologists and chemists for more than a century since its inception. From the initial crude paper electrophor...
