Cognitive Semantic Aspect of the Notions der DDR-Bürger and der BRD-Bürger

Abstract
The article deals with the transformations of the linguocultural types structure of the German burgher caused by the specific historical, time, social and cultural factors as well as the authors’ subjective attitude. The research is based on the documental and publicistic material. It states that the variants of the German burgher’s linguocultural type realizations that appear in the postwar period in the context of the notions der DDR-Bürger and der BRD-Bürger create new reality based on the idea of being separated – other – different. Such peculiarity leads to ambivalence in the interpretation of this type. It comes out not only in the notion of the burghers’ community representative der Bourgeois but also in its extended meaning of being a citizen of each of the German countries der Staatsbürger. Within the framework of cognitive semantic analysis it determines the language and stylistic peculiarities of the linguocultural types features as well as their role in the context of expression. It defines two levels of stylistic devices used to describe cognitive features of the type. These levels are syntagmatic and paradigmatic. The cognitive features of the German burger’s linguocultural type such as distinction feeling, conservative views, weakness, helplessness, pressure, humiliation, devastation are reflected in the semantics of lexical units: verbs, adverbs, nouns, participles, word-formative elements prefixes as well as by means of emotional expressive adjectives that define different degree of features reflection, modal words and emphatic particles. The basic means of language devices interaction at the syntagmatic level are comparisons, lexical repetitions, inversions, negations, rhetorical questions. At the paradigmatic level the cognitive features of the linguocultural type are realized by means of synonymous repetitions, indirect explicit refusal.
